EUGENE OPERAS EDUCATION AND OUTREACH PROGRAMS |
With a commitment to spreading the good word about opera,
Eugene Operas Opera-tunities offers many exciting and
individually-designed programs to suit all ages and situations. |
Through in-school concerts, Eugene Operas
Resident Artists introduce students to the diverse world of opera. |
While entertaining and educating, the singers interactively
demonstrate the special use of the opera singers voice. Adding some costume
pieces and props, the singers show the effectiveness of other aspects of this theatrical
art form. |
Using appropriate arias and duets chosen from the standard
repertoire, the audience learns about English, German, Italian and French stories, getting
a very international taste of opera. |
Opera-tunities also provides fully staged performance, with
scenery, costumes and props. |
Residency programs are also possible. Eugene Opera can
offer talks and workshops by members of our professional team. On June 12 and 13,
Springfields Guy Lee Elementary School performed their own opera, completely
created by the students with our collaboration! They learned about opera by building one
from scratch! This event was even covered as a feature news article by KVAL-13. |
