With a commitment to spreading the good word about opera, Eugene Opera’s Opera-tunities offers many exciting and individually designed programs to suit all ages and situations. Through in-school concerts, Eugene Opera’s Resident Artists introduce students to the diverse world of opera. While entertaining and educating, the singers interactively demonstrate the special use of the opera singer’s voice. Adding some costume pieces and props, the singers show the effectiveness of other aspects of this theatrical art form. Using appropriate arias and duets chosen from the standard repertoire, the audience learns about English, German, Italian and French stories, getting a very international taste of opera. Opera-tunities also provides fully staged performance, with scenery, costumes and props.
