Julia Hunt will make her New York debut this March at Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall
as the first-place winner of the Center for Contemporary Operas 1999 international
competition for opera singers. Her operatic roles have included the Countess in The
Marriage of Figaro, Mimi in La Boheme, Nedda in I Pagliacci, Eurydice
in Orpheus and Eurydice, and Pamina in The Magic Flute. She also has
experience in musical theater and cabaret, including singing the role of Maria in West Side
Story and performing at numerous cabaret venues in New York and California, most
recently at the Mabel Mercer Foundations Third Annual West Coast Cabaret Convention.
She is currently a doctoral candidate in voice at Indiana University under Martina Arroyo,
having received her Masters Degree there and her B.A. from Stanford University.
