Highlights from Knezevics 1999 season include, Frosh in Die Fledermaus
for Chicago Lyric Opera, Count Almaviva (The Marriage of Figaro) and Enrico
Ashton (Lucia di Lammermoor) in Festival Opera, Walnut Creek, where he also sang
Marcell (La Boheme) in 1998. Other credits in 98 include, Benoit/Alcindoro
(La Boheme) for Vancouver Opera; and a concert appearance as Narumovin Washington
National Symphonys concert version of Tchaikovskys Pique Dame,
under the baton of Mstislav Rostropovich; as well as appearing in productions of Turandot,
Manon, Peter Grimes and Betrothal in a Monastery for San Francisco Opera.
He began his operatic career singing in major opera companies in the former Yugoslavia including
Belgrade, Zagred and Ljubljana and also performed concerts in Greece, Romania and Belgium. His
association with San Francisco Opera started in 1992 where he participated in their Merola Program,
Western Opera Theater national tours and as a 1995 Alder Fellow. He has appeared with SFO since
1995 in many roles and covered numerous major roles during this period.
